Jennifer D. Cockcroft, Esq. BCS, was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2004 and a member of the Georgia Bar since 1998. She was board certified by the Florida Bar in Local, City, County Government Law in 2018. She joined Block & Scarpa in April of 2022.

Ms. Cockcroft began her legal career as a felony prosecutor in Atlanta, Georgia, with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office as a Senior Assistant District Attorney. She prosecuted felony cases in multiple divisions, from indictment through trial from 1998 to 2004.

In 2004, Ms. Cockcroft became a member of the Florida Bar and began practicing municipal law. From 2004 to 2014, Ms. Cockcroft practiced municipal law as in house counsel to the City of Kissimmee, as the sole Assistant City Attorney. During this time, Ms. Cockcroft represented all City Departments and City Boards as well as the City Commission in day to day matters as well as during meetings of all City Boards. She was the primary liaison for the planning and zoning department and handled all planning board meetings, and was involved in development review of all projects.

Ms. Cockcroft practiced law at Stenstrom McIntosh, Colbert & Whigham, P.A., as "Of Counsel" from January 2016 to January 2019. During that time period she represented private clients in a variety of civil matters and represented approximately ten municipal clients in a variety of capacities as City Attorney. These cities included: Sanford, Oviedo, Mount Dora, Webster, Daytona Beach Shores, and Deland. During this time period she was acting City Attorney for Mount Dora for two years, and helped establish arts boards for both Sanford and Oviedo. She was the primary liaison for the planning and zoning department and handled all planning board meetings, and was involved in development review of all projects for Oviedo and Mount Dora.

From April 2019 to April 2022, Ms. Cockcroft was Deputy City Attorney for the City of Palm Bay. During this time period she represented all City Departments and the City Council. As part of her duties she was primarily responsible for representation of the Land Use and Zoning Department, Public Works Department and Utilities Department. She was a construction lawyer, actively involved in real estate matters relating to property acquisitions for right of way and easements, negotiating development agreements with developers and reviewing all documents associated with land development. She represented the planning and zoning board in monthly meetings and dealt with a variety of land use matters on a daily basis.

Ms. Cockcroft held a Florida real estate associate license from 2015-2019. She has been a member of the Florida Municipal Attorneys' Association and the Florida Association of Police Attorneys since 2004.

Ms. Cockcroft is an Orlando native. She is married and lives in Kissimmee with her husband and two very active sons. She is an active community volunteer and serves on multiple not for profit boards, including the Friends of Kissimmee Parks, the Osceola High School Touchdown Club, Saint Cloud Youth Football, and In Bounds, Inc.
