Biography
Shayda was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in Vero Beach, Florida. She attended college at Florida State University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, a double major in English, and a minor in Film Studies. While at FSU, Shayda was inducted into the International Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law Golden Key Honour Society and was a trombone player in the FSU Marching Chiefs. After graduating from FSU, Shayda moved to Macon, Georgia and attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor and graduated cum laude. While in law school, she was Moot Court Chair of the Mercer Advocacy Council and competed in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition and the Ruby R. Vale Interschool Corporate Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining the firm, Shayda worked as the sole Staff Attorney for the Enotah Judicial Circuit in North Georgia and then transitioned into private practice, practicing in the areas of workers’ compensation and general liability defense in Georgia before moving back to Florida where her practice focused on first-property property disputes. At Block & Scarpa, Shayda’s practice focuses exclusively on dispute resolution and general civil litigation, including disputes regarding real estate, contracts, trust administration and probate, business transactions, and property damage.
